The first shots that we filmed were a close up of the tap running, a high shot of the picture of the boy drowning in the water and a close up of it being ripped in half. This all went smoothly apart from a final shot of the photo being thrown away as it was too damp so would fall slowly to the floor. But we quickly resolved this problem by using a spare dry picture and throwing that instead as we thought the audience would not be able to tell the difference anyway.
Then we filmed a close up shot of the girl (played by me) opening the box and looking at the picture of the boy which she has kept. After that we filmed some extreme close ups of my eyes for the 'Im Stunned' lyrics and when the main girl goes mad with worry about where the boy has gone. We also did an extreme close up of my mouth for the lyrics 'People marching to the drums, everybody's having fun to the sound of love' to make sure that we still had some conventions of music videos.
Following that we filmed the shots outside with a long shot and a mid shot of the main girl looking back at her house. Then we did some long shots of the girl making her way to the bench and then used a shoulder mount to do a shot of the camera going around the bench. Next we filmed a long shot and close up of the main girl looking for the boy, and then a long shot of the shirt in a tree and the girl finding it. Once we did this we did a low shot of the trees.
Finally, we did a mid shot of the globe spinning, a long shot of the view and a range of different close up focus areas on me playing the guitar. After that we did a close up shot of Laura marching in different ways that will follow a convention of music videos with the visuals matching the lyrics.
What went well is we filmed everything we planned on the filming schedule. Also, when it came to weather we were lucky as it was forecast to rain but it didn't so we did not have to worry about lighting or finding a way to stay dry.
To improve we need to make sure we remember all the props that we need as we had to use a different flannel shirt as we forgot to bring the one that we needed. Furthermore, we had to think about how to throw the picture of the boy as we soon realised it was too light and damp to throw with force. But we did fix this problem quickly by crumbling a dry version up.
Here are some screen shots of what we did today:
